Law, Policy, and Myth Regarding Migration at Our Southern Border

Migration at the Southwest border has been a controversial and complicated topic in recent years, which has been further exacerbated by the COVID pandemic.

ACLU attorney Bardis Vakili will present data to provide a better understanding of the situation at the border, as well as a description of current border policies, how those policies have shifted in recent years, and his office’s litigation efforts to protect due process and fairness in the immigration system. 

As he is an attorney in the ACLU’s San Diego & Imperial County affiliate, Mr. Vakili’s presentation will focus on the perspective from California and the California-Mexico border community.
